Established in 1934, G H Lucas & Co Ltd has built a reputation as one of the leading suppliers of cable glands and electrical installation equipment to the UK wholesale trade, both as a re-seller of its own range of quality products and also as a distributor for many major manufacturers. With extensive stock holdings and distribution at our new depot in Telford the company is ideally placed to meet all requirements for electrical installation equipment.

  • 1934 - GH Lucas & Co, was founded by George Harold Lucas as a manufacturers agent with an office on Kings Street in Manchester.
  • 1940-46 - The company was run by George's wife Mary while he served as an officer in the RAF.
  • 1952 - The company relocated to 7 Albert Place in Manchester.
  • 1970 - Donald Lucas entered the business now at Thornfield House in Altrincham. While passing his father on the stairs the only words spoken by his father were "good luck son".
  • 1978 - GH Lucas relocated to Stamford Park Road in Altrincham and had additional distribution facilities in Glasgow, Leeds and Birmingham. By this time w were master distributors for the likes of Swifts cable tray, Hawke cable glands, Pirelli Components. B-Line, Gewiss and CTL.
  • 1989 - GH Lucas Relocated to Century Park in Altrincham to a high tech warehouse and office facility.
  • 2007 - GH Lucas becomes UK distributors for Raytech International of Italy investors of Magic Gel which is launched in the UK revolutionising how electrical connectors are waterproofed.
  • 2012 - Continued success of the GH Lucas name headed by Nick Lucas, son of Don enables a move to Cheadle.
  • 2015 - Julian Duke joins the Company as a sales agent for the Midlands area.
  • 2018 - Julian & Rita Duke acquire shares in the Company and GH Lucas relocates to Telford.
  • 2023 - GH Lucas starts to increase brands becoming UK distributors for Link2Home & QBrick products.
  • 2024 - Additional brand of Tolsen Tools added & Lucas products start to be developed.
